New Arrival

Meet Starlet, she was adopted from Lozza1910 and has become a sergeant mom here at DeadEndAcres. We recently were on a hike to an abandoned property where there was report of sickly horses. Upon arriving there were no people to be found, but a few dead horses. surprisingly we found some alive in the horrible living conditions. We found a almost newborn Fleabitten filly and very young Bay colt still alive but barely hanging on. The colt had lameness in one leg and the flu, of which he recovered fairly quickly. The filly on the other hand was extremely malnourished, seemed to have an infected wound on her leg and wouldn't open on of her eyes voluntarily. We took her to an emergency hospital where they said her leg was going to heal over a period of time, and a good diet would help her recover from the malnourished. But they wanted to do further testing, and didn't explain why. After some blood testing and X-Ray's, they told us she had some leg and spinal issues, she would live a long and happy life but she cannot be ridden or risk severe pain. They told us they were able to pick up traces of mild dwarfism, and since she wasn't a Mini Horse, it was very possible she was instead a Frisian mix (Mix only because of her Arabian face) As Frisians are known to be subject to dwarfism. They said to keep an eye on her but besides the skinny body, and injured leg she was perfectly healthy. Starlet was extremely happy to have foals and has loved raising them for the past 6 months. We named the filly Shining Hope, and the colt Strong Man.
